Deep within the country of Fiore, a place filled with mages and magic, within the city of Magnolia, right in the center stood a Guild, tall and Proud. It’s name was FAIRY TAIL.

A guild which was a home to many powerful mages and wizards. A guild which was looked up to and trusted by all citizens of Magnolia and the neighboring towns.

Walking through the huge doors of Fairy Tail, one could see complete,

DESTRUCTION!!!

The entire place was in ruins!

“Take this Ice Princess!” A pink haired guy yelled as he threw a barrel at a young man who had stripped his clothes completely leaving behind only his underpants.

He dodged it easily and smirked at the pink haired guy who scowled at the half naked guy while steam poured out his ears as a sign showing that he was beyond annoyed.
“You’ll need years of practice before taking me down Flame Breath.” The dark haired boxer young man said at the fuming black onix eyed guy.
The pink haired guy, aka Natsu Dragneel, one of Fairy Tail’s most powerful wizard, a fire dragon slayer, sprang on the naked guy who was none other than Gray Fullbuster, the Ice wizard of Fairy Tail. Both toppled on the floor rolling all over continuing their meaningless fight.

“My my… Our guild is so lively.” Mirajane Strauss, the beauty of Fairy Tail, walked by with a pleasant smile as she handed 2 mugs of booze to Wakaba and Macao.
“You two drink way too much.” Cana said to the two men as she lifted a barrel of booze and started gulping it down non-stop.
“Look who’s talking!” both Wakaba and Macao yelled at the brunette in unison. A huge man with silvery white hair and buffed up arms stood next to them.
“She’s a man!” He said out aloud his fists clenched. Both men sweat dropped.
“She’s got the boobs and curves of a woman. How can she be a man?” Wakaba asked Elfman who shrugged but grinned, pure determination visible in his eyes.

A loud sigh was heard from the next table. A dark haired young man with red highlights and a scar across one of his eye glanced at the ground at his cousin and Gray who were still rolling on the floor quarreling. His crimson eyes focused directly at Natsu as he let out another sigh. Running his bandaged hand through his hair, Shadow Blader turned to face the two squabbling boys.
“As soon as Erza is out on a job, you two start your daily routine. Just give it a rest already. Why can’t you two act a bit more matured?” No sooner had he said this, a wooden bench came flying his way and knocked him to the ground. Getting to his feet, Shadow glared at Natsu and Gray a tick mark appearing on the side of his forehead.
“Forget Matured. I’m going to kill you both!” He lifted his right hand, a sword appeared out of thin air. Clutching it tight, he made his way towards the two idiots raising his sword high to bring it down hard on both their brainless heads.
The guild main door was thrown open suddenly with two young girls standing at the entrance. One a blonde and the other a brown haired girl with slightly red highlights running across her hair.
“We’re back!” Lucy called out gleefully. Her happiness lasted only a second. A flying Natsu came tumbling down on her, squashing her to the ground with his bulky body.
“I wanna go back home…” Lucy whined.  “Get off of me Natsu!” She yelled in anger as she struggled and managed to push him away from her. Natsu had a childish grin on his face which disappeared completely when he looked up and noticed the other person standing there. Gray had stopped laughing long time ago.
“Mi… Misaki… Welcome back.” Gray’s voice was too fake. Natsu scrambled to his feet and ran to the other side of the guild hall, keeping a safe distance between him and the now arrived Misaki Yukito.
“What happened in here?” Misaki asked as she looked around. Most of the table and benches had been turned over and the rest of the guild… well you can imagine a tornado or a tsunami had strike.
“Oh you know, the usual quarreling and arguing of Natsu and Gray. Welcome back Lucy, Misaki.” Mira greeted them with a smile. Misaki glared at Natsu and Gray who were now holding onto each other for dear life, glued to the walls. She turned to her left and her eyes focused on a certain dark haired mage.
“You’re in on this as well Shadow?” Shadow stared at her confused, then looked down at his hand. He was still gripping onto his sword high, standing in a fighting stance. He quickly made his sword disappear. “No, no Misaki. This is not what it looks like. I swear.” She lifted an eye not taking her gaze away from him. Damn, She could kill me with her glares. He thought miserably.

Misaki let out a deep sigh. “Get everything straightened out.” She said as she waked to an empty table. Natsu, Gray and Shadow stared at her in disbelief. Usually when she caught them fighting she would give them a lesson they would never forget. “Wow, she must be in a really bad mood.” All three said in unison. Shadow couldn’t take his eyes off of Misaki. Something seemed to b bothering her. He could tell just by looking at her troubled face.
He took a seat beside her. She didn’t seem to have noticed his presence.
“Misaki?” No reply from her. “Misaki!” He shook her by the shoulder. She jerked her head and stared at him blankly. Shadow felt self-conscious and uncomfortable being stared at directly by those piercing Aqua green eyes.
“What’s wrong Misaki?” She simply shook her and shrugged.
“I’m fine Shadow. Don’t worry.” Misaki looked down at her hands staring at them. Seeing her so depressed clenched his chest. He had no idea why though. I don’t care what happened. I’ve got to cheer her up somehow. He thought to himself as he walked over to the job board.

Shadow stared intently at each flyer. Then he grabbed one which he thought would suit them and walked back to where Misaki was seated. He shook the flyer in front of her face grabbing her attention.
“How about a job? Just you and me?” He looked at her hopefully but she only shook her head. Disappointment was clear in his face, but no way was he going to give up. Shadow grabbed hold of Misaki’s hand and tugged her to get to her feet.
“C’mon, you know I don’t take ‘NO’ for an answer. It’s just one measly job. I guarantee you it won’t take up too much of your time. What do you say?”
Misaki still wanted to say No. She wasn’t in a mood for jobs, let alone talk to anyone. This was the day, her brother had abandoned her, leaving her alone to face the world. Its been over 10 years since he disappeared but she always felt down and depressed on this particular day, remembering how scared and useless she had felt.
If it wasn’t for Lucy dragging her to the guild this morning, she would have been holed up in her room. Misaki looked up at the expectant face of her partner. She didn’t want to go on this job yet she couldn’t find herself to decline his offer as well. She was well aware that he was still exhausted after coming back from his recent job and was only asking her out on another one so he could help her cheer up. Misaki couldn’t help but smile at the gentle guy standing in front of her. Grabbing her over coat she stood up.
“Alright. Lets go. I feel cranky all over, a job is just what I need right now to get me fired up.” Shadow’s face brightened up. He walked over to the guild bar where Mira was wiping some glasses.
“Is there something I can do for you Shadow?” Mira asked as she noticed him walking towards her. He nodded as he handed her the flyer.
“Misaki and I are taking his job. Place the guild seal in this for us.” Mira took the flyer from him and had a close look on it. She nodded giving her approval. This job had been on the job request board for quite a while. Levy and her team had requested it but she hadn’t approved because she knew they couldn’t take it on. If it was Misaki and Shadow, she knew well that they would complete it without a sweat. But then, a thought striked. She looked up from the flyer to Shadow.
“Is it just the two of you? Isn’t Natsu coming along as well?” Shadow shook his head, parts of his spiky dark hair falling to his eyes which he brushed away.
“No, this time it’s just me and Misaki.” At once he regretted saying it. He saw the wheels turning behind her sea blue eyes. A mischievous twinkle visible. Her lips broke into a playful smile.
“Oh no you don’t. You do not have weird imaginations Matchmaker! We’re just heading out on a job together without my cousin. That’s all.” Shadow hardened his voice and spoke in a slightly rough manner but being the playful girl she is, Mira didn’t bother about it at all. She just continued smiling.
“Whatever you say Shadow.” She winked at him as she handed him back the job flyer.

Shadow groaned as he grabbed the flyer and walked back to Misaki. “All okay? You look as if you would love to hide inside a barrel.” Misaki said as she noticed Shadow’s face carrying various expressions. At the mention of barrels, Cana outstretched her arms in front of her booze barrels in a protective way with a terror glint in her eyes.
“Keep your barrels to yourself girl. No one wants it.” Misaki huffed in annoyance at the brunette in a bikini and pants. Once she was sure her booze was safe Cana continued drinking.
“Everything’s fine. All sorted out. Let’s head out Misaki.” They both made their way towards the entrance of the guild when they were suddenly stopped by a pouting and slightly annoyed pink head.
“You two are going on a job without me? But why?” Natsu demanded. Misaki only shrugged and Shadow was left in an awkward position to explain his cousin.
“Well Natsu… errr…. I was just thinking…” Shadow was blank.  He didn’t know what to say. Thankfully Mirajane came to his rescue.
“Oh let them go Natsu. Shadow finally found the courage to ask her out on a job with just the two of them. The poor guy. Don’t spoil his wishes.” Some rescue that was. She left him in an even more embarrassing and awkward position now. The entire guild was looking their way. A low whistle was heard. Without turning his head, he knew perfectly well it was Gray jackass Fullbuster. Natsu being the dense idiot he is, stared at them confused. Out of the corner of his eyes, Shadow noticed Misaki opening her mouth to say something.
“It’s nothing like that! Damn you Mira!!.” He quickly grabbed Misaki’s hand and dragged her outside into the streets. Nothing could have covered the faint blush visible on his face.
“Slow down Blader… What’s put you in a bad mood so suddenly?” Misaki was trying hard to keep up with Shadow, but his long stride made it difficult to catch up.
“Nothing.” That was all he said through gritted teeth.
Misaki knew well than to ask more questions so she kept silent and followed her steamed up Partner, unaware that her hands were still held tightly within his strong grasp, not wanting to let go of her small fist no matter what.
